Helpline comes to an end
The Palliative Care Helpline, a free service that provided the WA community with information and support on end-of-life planning, palliative care, and grief and loss, ceased operation on 31 October 2024.
Funding from the Department of Health for the service has, unfortunately, come to an end. We are very sorry that we can no longer provide this service.
Palliative Care WA wishes to thank the experienced and compassionate Helpline team members, who expertly provided support and information every day of the year from the start of the Helpline in April 2020. The Palliative Care Helpline team members were committed to helping people in need, and we thank them for their expertise, empathy and contribution to the palliative care sector.
To assist the community following the cessation of the Helpline, we have created a new webpage with helpful information, frequently asked questions, and contacts. Please visit HERE.
Our two booklets – Palliative Caring and My Palliative Care provide a wealth of information for people caring for others and for people who are receiving palliative care or are newly diagnosed with a life-limiting illness or condition.
To speak to someone in person about health matters, please call Health Direct on 1800 022 222. Health Direct provides quality health information and advice.
If you are a carer and require information on the support you can receive for yourself, phone the Carer Gateway on 1800 422 737 or visit the Carer Gateway or Carers WA.
