New CEO to join Palliative Care WA
Palliative Care WA (PCWA) today announced the appointment of Mark Kinsela as its next Chief Executive Officer, commencing 2 March 2026. Mark will succeed Lenka Psar-McCabe, who will retire from the role in early 2026 after three years of dedicated service.
Mark is an experienced health leader, advocate and former Intensive Care Nurse Educator with a career spanning clinical practice, government, digital health and peak-body leadership.
He has held senior roles including Chief Executive Officer of Council on the Ageing (WA), Chief Executive Officer of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia, and Chief of Staff at the Australian Digital Health Agency.
Mark has contributed to several major national policy initiatives, including significant aged care and digital health reforms. Earlier in his career, he served as an Officer in the Australian Army and holds postgraduate qualifications in business, governance and education.
In announcing the new appointment, Board President Liz Behjat welcomed Mark to the role and thanked Lenka for her outstanding service to PCWA.
“We have great confidence that Mark will continue to build on our solid foundation, clear strategy, and exceptional team,” Liz said.
“Our commitment to our members and our community remains our top priority and we will continue our vision for all people with life-limiting illnesses or conditions, and those important to them, to be well supported to live, die and grieve well.
“We will continue to deliver the same high-quality services and projects and uphold the strong relationships we’ve built.
“The Board is incredibly grateful for Lenka’s dedication, integrity and passion and for ensuring the organisation is well-positioned for continued success with secured funding from the Department of Health for the next five years and a number of other funded projects through partner organisations.
“The Board, Lenka and Mark are all working together to ensure a seamless leadership transition.”
