Goals of Patient Care Update
Thank you to Dr Simon Towler, our guest presenter at last week’s Sector Forum. Dr Towler provided an engaging and comprehensive update on the Goals of Patient Care project.
Introduced last year, the Goals of Patient Care form aimed to prompt and facilitate proactive shared decision making between treating clinicians, patients and their families.
The Clinical Lead for Goals of Patient Care, Dr Towler also provided an update on the National Goals of Care Collaborative, which is aiming to increase the use of My Health Record for storing and facilitating ease of access to a range of end-of-life planning documents.
This was our first sector forum combining in-person as well as online attendance, options we hope to continue to offer where possible or appropriate.
Thanks to some funding from WA Health this forum was filmed – both the presentation and the Q&A session – and will be made available online soon. In the meantime, for those who couldn’t participate here are Dr Towler’s presentation slides.
