Nominate for election to the Palliative Care WA Board
Board member nominations now closed!
Nominations are now open for election to the Palliative Care WA Board for 2025. As the peak body for the palliative care sector across the State, Palliative Care WA is a member-based, not-for-profit organisation providing an independent and collective voice for palliative care.
We encourage and facilitate best practice, professional development and sector-wide collaborations aiming to strengthen the sector.
We also work to engage and empower the WA community and strengthen the public dialogue and understanding of advance care planning, palliative care, and grief and loss.
By becoming a member of the Palliative Care WA Board you have the chance to make a valuable contribution to our work with both the community and the palliative care, aged care and community services sectors to ensure access to quality palliative care services for all Western Australians.
Please note the following proposed changes to the Board subject to passing a Special Resolution at the AGM.
Tenure of Board Members
Palliative Care WA’s Board has recommended that the tenure of Board positions be altered via a Special Resolution that will be put to PCWA members at the AGM.
The current Board considered multiple terms and has settled on changing the tenure to two-year terms. This will be achieved by having a transitional arrangement where all positions are voted on but with varying terms, either one or two years. If the Special Resolution does not pass, then all positions will be one year.
Number of Positions
Palliative Care WA’s Board has elected that there will 5 general positions and 4 specified roles, a total of 9 Board positions.
There are 11 Board meetings each year, held on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 4.30pm, with options to attend online when needed.
To be eligible to be elected as Board member you must be:
- a current financial member of Palliative Care WA, and
- nominated by a current financial member of Palliative Care WA.
