Dr Ellen Knight joins Palliative Care WA Board
Palliative Care WA is pleased to announce that Palliative Care Physician Dr Ellen (Ellie) Knight has joined the Board of Palliative Care WA.
Dr Knight FRACP AFRACMA works in both the public and private hospital systems and is currently Director of Hospice and Palliative Care Services at St John of God Murdoch Hospital and a Palliative Care Physician at Rockingham General Hospital.
She was previously Head of the Palliative Care Department at Joondalup Health Campus as well as working with their Post Graduate Medical Education Department to support their junior doctors.
Dr Knight graduated with a MBBS from St George’s Hospital Medical School, University of London, in the UK in 2008 and completed Palliative Medicine specialist training in Western Australia in 2019.
Dr Knight said she was honoured to join the Board of Palliative Care WA.
Palliative Care WA President Liz Behjat welcomed Dr Knight to the Board and expressed her enthusiasm for having a palliative care physician of her standing join the Board.
“We are very fortunate to have such an accomplished palliative care physician join our Board to provide clinical palliative care expertise to our strategy and policy decision making,” Ms Behat said.
“Dr Knight will complement our other highly skilled Board members, ensuring Palliative Care WA is a very strong position moving forward.”
