We are proud to announce that at our Annual General Meeting, the following office bearers for 2025 were elected: President – Dr Elissa Campbell, Deputy President – Dr Simon Towler, Treasurer – Hiren Mehta, Secretary – Samya Brayley.
One new member was elected to the Palliative Care WA Board and four existing members were re-elected.
We warmly welcomed new member Zoe Clarke to the Palliative Care WA Board. Zoe is a senior social worker in the specialist palliative care team at Fiona Stanley Hospital and previously has been a Board Member of PCWA and Chair of the WA Palliative Care Social Work group.
The four re-elected members, in addition to the executive, are Liz Behjat, Maria Davison, Professor Davina Porock and Janet Wagland.
President Dr Elissa Campbell thanked outgoing Board members Adjunct Professor Yasmin Naglazas, Professor Samar Aoun, Karina Bowden, Eileen Harris, Meg Plaster, Karen Proctor and Dr Ruth Wei for their service.
Dr Campbell also recognised Palliative Care WA Life Members – Dr Alice Phua, Susie Vojkovic, Dr Scott Blackwell, Dr Kevin Yuen, Emeritus Professor Doug Bridge, Rev Geoff Blyth, Dr Douglas McAdam, Ellen Nightingale and Joy Brann.
Following our Annual General Meeting, we can confirm that the amendment to the Rules of Association has been passed unanimously by the Special Resolution. The new Rules of Association will be on our website soon.
