National Palliative Care Week 2025 – What’s your plan?
Our annual awareness raising campaign, National Palliative Care Week 2025 from 11 to 17 May is fast approaching.
This year the theme is ‘What’s your plan?’ which aligns perfectly with Palliative Care WA’s emphasis on promoting and increasing awareness of Advance Care Planning in the WA community through our ACP workshops and ACP Support Service.
Our events
During National Palliative Care Week we will be running a range of events and activities, including our Annual Palliative Care Sector Breakfast – this year in Perth, Bunbury, Albany and, for the first time, Pingelly, thanks to funding from the Lockwood Charitable Foundation and our other supporters and sponsors (see below).
You are invited to join us for this popular breakfast event to catch up with colleagues and hear from much-loved Australian actor and comedian Jean Kittson AM and Wheatbelt Specialist Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Garth Wolfenden.
Jean and Garth will focus on their experiences of what’s good, and what’s not so good in palliative care, what end-of-life experiences look like and how quality and well planned care can improve the palliative care journey.
See HERE for more details and how to purchase tickets to the breakfast.
We are also conducting a series of ACP workshops in the Wheatbelt region, including Quairading, Merredin, Williams, Wagin, Dumbelyung and Lake Grace. Visit our events page for further details on how you can take part.

Supporters and sponsors
The Lockwood Charitable Foundation has been a highly appreciated supporter of Palliative Care WA for a number of years. This year, the foundation’s generous support will allow us to facilitate three country satellite events for our Annual National Palliative Care Week 2025 Sector Breakfast – in Bunbury, Albany and, for the first time, Pingelly.
We are very grateful that the Lockwood Charitable Foundation’s substantial support will allow us to take our messages to regional communities and enable those working in palliative care in these three regions – South West, Great Southern and the Wheatbelt – to be part of this annual palliative care sector educational and networking event.
We are also extremely grateful for funding from Lotterywest and generous sponsorship from our wonderful colleagues at Parkinson’s Western Australia, Silverchain, Brightwater, St John of God Health Care, Cares Communities, PaSCE and Bethesda Health Care.
