Parliamentary Inquiry into Palliative Care
The Joint Select Committee on Palliative Care in WA is holding an inquiry into palliative care and are seeking submissions by Friday 10 July 2020.
This Committee will be inquiring into and reporting on:
- the implementation progress of the recommendations made in the Your Life Your Choice report that came out of the Joint Select Committee into End of Life Choices in 2018;
- the delivery of the services associated with palliative care funding announcements in 2019–2020;
- the delivery of palliative care into regional and remote areas; and
- the progress on ensuring greater equity of access to palliative care services between metropolitan and regional areas.
Palliative Care WA will be making a submission to the Committee and will undergo a consultative process within the sector and the community to make sure we gather and represent as many diverse views as possible. We are planning on an in-person sector consultation, several online consultations for sector and community, and an online survey. More information on these will be available very soon.
If you would like to make your own submission, there is some information on the Joint Select Committee on Palliative Care in WA here, and some general information and advice on making submissions to a Parliamentary Committee here.
