Conversations inspire and challenge at annual National Palliative Care sector breakfast 2025
It was wonderful to see so many attendees at this year’s Annual Sector Breakfast to celebrate National Palliative Care Week 2025.
Special thanks go our guest speakers, Jean Kitson AM, author, public speaker, actor and comedian, and Wheatbelt Specialist Palliative Care Clinical Nurse/Educator Garth Wolfenden for their heartfelt and inspiring stories. Together with our superbly skilled MC Di Darmody, they made the event a great success.
We are very grateful that Richard Lockwood’s substantial support allowed us to take our messages to regional communities in the South West, Great Southern and the Wheatbelt enabling them to be part of this annual palliative care sector educational and networking event.
Richard Lockwood has been a highly appreciated supporter of Palliative Care WA for a number of years. This year, his generous support allowed us to facilitate three country satellite events for the breakfast – in Bunbury, Albany and, for the first time, Pingelly.
We are also extremely grateful for the generous sponsorship from our wonderful colleagues at Parkinson’s Western Australia, Silverchain, Brightwater, St John of God Health Care, Cares Communities, PaSCE and Bethesda Health Care.
Support from Lotterywest is also gratefully acknowledged.
Thanks and gratitude also go to Fraser’s Kings Park, Dolphin Discovery Centre in Bunbury, Albany Golf Resort, and Pingelly Recreation and Cultural Centre, beautiful music by Tres Classique, Welcome to Country from Ingrid Cumming, audio-visual assistance from PAV, and of course, our helpers on the ground at the four venues.
Thank you to everyone for making it such a great event!
