National Palliative Care Week 2021
National Palliative Care Week on 23-29 May is fast approaching. This important week provides a wonderful opportunity for all of us who work in and around the sector to raise awareness of the many benefits of palliative care, bust a few myths that insist on hanging around, and generally start some conversations.
This year’s theme Palliative Care – It’s more than you think promotes the aim of palliative care, which is to help people with life-limiting illnesses to live as well as possible by supporting their physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs.
Sector Breakfast
A key annual event on the PCWA calendar, our Sector Breakfast provides a significant opportunity for us to come together as a sector during National Palliative Care Week. After a break last year due to COVID, we are delighted to invite you to join us this year at The University Club at UWA on Tuesday 25 May.
The speaker for this year’s breakfast is Dr Peter Saul. An intensive care specialist, Dr Saul has over 40 years clinical experience communicating with patients and their families about end-of-life issues in acute care settings across four countries. Find out more about the breakfast and access the link to purchase your ticket and secure a place HERE.
Resources
There are a range of electronic resources freely available on Palliative Care Australia’s website including posters you can print for use in your workplace, or at your own NPCW event, or even within your local community. Click HERE to see the resources and download what you need.
