South West Compassionate Communities Network is a groundbreaker!

The South West Compassionate Community Network is excited to share that it has been selected as one of eight national GroundBreaker communities who collectively will form the National Compassionate Communities Forum (NCCF). Over the next 18 months, the forum will seek to explore the challenges, successes and viability of the Compassionate Communities approach in Australia.

The NCCF will be sharing resources, tools, stories of inspiration and other learnings and invite you to stay connected by:
Signing up to the NCCF newsletter
Checking out the NCCF website as it evolves
Following the NCCF on social media

Professor Samar Aoun & Dr Julieanne Hilbers are the co-founders of the South West initiative. “We are committed to increasing Compassionate Communities opportunities across the South West of Western Australia” says Samar. “The Compassionate Communities Symposium, organised by PCWA and held in Bunbury last year reinforced there is keen interest and support for this public health approach to end of life care.”

Julieanne also shared that “we have begun mapping community assets which Compassionate Communities approach can value add to. The NCCF program will provide a valuable opportunity for us in the South West to work together locally as well as learn from and contribute to the national conversation.”

We anticipate a public launch of this initiative will take place towards the end of July-early August this year. If you would like to know more, become involved and/or kept informed about the exciting opportunities being a Groundbreaker community presents for people living in the South West of Australia, please email Julieanne and Samar at comcomnetworksw@gmail.com
