Palliative Care WA’s sector forums provide our members the opportunity to showcase the great work that is occurring in palliative care across Western Australia.
Our members include service providers, clinicians, practitioners, specialists, social workers, researchers, consumers, carers, volunteers and educators across health, aged care, disability, government and community sector organisations.
This ensures the forums are a great opportunity to network with peers and colleagues from the palliative care sector, and other allied sectors with common interests.
Each forum focusses on a topic of interest within the sector and the community, with many showcasing best practice and demonstration projects that are leading the way locally and often nationally. They provide a great opportunity for informal learning, as well as recognition for local professionals and organisations that are excelling across the sector.
Past topics have included:
- Using data to achieve better health outcomes
- Pathways to palliative care
- Caring@Home project
- My Health Record
- Spotlight on Paediatric and Adolescent Palliative Care
- Managing COVID-19 in Residential Aged Care
With the advent of COVID-19, we moved to offering our sector forums online. As restrictions continue to ease in WA we will be taking the approach of offering both in-person and online options for sector forums wherever possible. This provides flexibility for participants as well as allowing us to adapt quickly in this rapidly changing situation.
