Understanding Goals of Care
This online community forum will explain the new process of Goals of Care being undertaken in WA hospitals.
- Tuesday 23 June, 10–11:30am
Goals of Care is a new process being undertaken in WA hospitals. Led by clinicians, it involves conversations to establish medically appropriate and realistic goals of patient care that are agreed between you and the medical staff. Understanding Goals of Care will cover information on this process and provide opportunity for you to get your questions answered by our experts.
Understanding Goals of Care will be presented by Dr Simon Towler and facilitated by our CEO Lana Glogowski. Simon has expertise in all aspects of intensive care and is currently a specialist in intensive care at Fiona Stanley Hospital. He is the Clinical Lead for the Goals of Care project and is working with WA Health and the Australian Digital Health Agency to increase the use of My Health Record for keeping a range of end-of-life planning documents.
