Each day across Australia, thousands of individuals and teams are working in palliative care to make a positive difference to the lives of people living with a life-limiting illness. Some of industry’s best and brightest are recognised via National Palliative Care Awards run by Palliative Care Australia

At a gala dinner at this year’s Oceanic Palliative Care Conference held right here in Perth, five individual and two team awards were presented for outstanding innovation, talent and teamwork in the palliative care sector.

Individual award winners received $2000 to go towards personal professional development whilst organisational / team award winners received $4000 to go towards professional development for their entire team.

And we are delighted that the Outstanding Achievement by a Volunteer award went to Veronica Reutens who is a highly valued volunteer with Silver Chain Hospice Service here in Perth. Congratulations Veronica!

You can find out about all the winners here. Palliative Care Australia also has a lovely video with all the award winners talking about their work.
