There is growing interest from a few organisations wishing to implement the Weavers program that was showcased at the Compassionate Communities Symposium last year.
Weavers is a peer-to-peer model supporting carers to address the significant challenges of caring for a loved one. Weavers are people with lived caring experience; they truly understand what it’s like and are trained to use this know-how to support carers in their local community.
Palliative Care WA is willing to coordinate a two-day Local Connector group training for up to six people to be delivered by The Australian Centre for Social Innovation (TACSI) in October 2018 at an approximate cost of $1500 per participant.
