Palliative Care WA is pleased to announce that we are the process of establishing a new confidential consumer and carer information and support phone service for WA.

Given the community’s need for reliable information and support during this challenging time, WA Health’s Cancer and Palliative Care Network have provided funding and support to get this service operational as soon as possible.

We are delighted to be collaborating with Carers WA to establish this service, which will link with their Carers Gateway where appropriate.  The service will be a first for WA and will initially be run as a six-month pilot.

This phone service will be available to members of the community seeking information and support on end-of-life and palliative care matters, whether they are related to COVID-19 or not.

We are urgently seeking phone responders for this service!

Up to six part-time paid positions are available for the seven-day-a-week service to support consumers, carers and families.

Phone responders will provide non-clinical information, referrals and support on three main areas:

  • Advance care planning
  • Palliative care
  • Grief and bereavement

You can see the full job description for the PCWA phone responders here. If you have any questions on this service please email us on info@palliativecarewa.asn.au.

Applications close on Monday 20 April so please act now!
